The Important Issue

Thank god for Bill Frist and the GOP leadership. With the Iraq War going so well, the Administration spying on citizens without warrants (and who knows, maybe even cause), and the budget projected in deficits as far as they eye can see, it’s good to see Congress tackling the really important issues.

The one thing we really need to solve the problems above is a sound policy to keep the pillow biters from wearing wedding rings.

Sweet Jesus! Is that really the burning issue that needs to be tackled immediately?

Isn’t there an alternative agenda that we could push? Maybe something like tax, lobbying and immigration reform? Or perhaps a balanced budget?

It’s a good thing the Senate has its priorities straight. We need to keep the religious zealots happy. Otherwise we may have to forgo our love of winning long enough to actually govern.
