Republicans Love The Internets

I haven’t read the full study or given this too much thought yet, but according to a Nielsen release today Republicans constitute 36.6 percent of people online versus 30.8 percent of Democrats and 17.3 percent of Independents. Most of that is just due to how the country is all broken up, but I think these numbers are too general to determine anything in how the Internet influences elections. Yeah, more Republicans may use the Internet than Democrats, but usually Democrats spend more time on the Internet and don’t transfer that online community into getting out the vote. Which is why efforts like the netroots’ for Lamont crash and burn come general election time.
