Google In The Crosshairs


TechnologyGoogle is starting to take a beating. Internet providers want them to start paying for the bandwidth they consume, their stock dropped precipitously on bad earnings numbers, and now the newspapers may sue over the use of content without payment.

When you have a massive market capitalization, people take notice. When those people happen to be the guys that are carrying your weight or providing you the free information you’re aggregating, they’ll want to get paid.

While Google has dismissed the possibility of paying for carriage, they may start running into trouble if their content suddenly gets very expensive.
