Bad Weekend For Jefferson, Democrats

Democrat attempts to paint Republicans as corrupt suffered another big blow this weekend. First, the FBI raided the office of Louisiana congressman William Jefferson and then came word that Jefferson was caught on tape accepting $100,000 in $100 bills (the same cash the FBI seized from his home.

A lawyer for Rep. William Jefferson said the FBI raid of the Louisiana Democrat’s congressional office on Saturday night was “outrageous” and unnecessary.

Honestly, I think a sitting US Congressman taking a $100,000 bribe is more outrageous than the search of his office as part of the investigation into that crime. If I were his lawyer, I’d try to refrain from using words that most people would use to describe his client’s alleged acts.
