What was your first computer?
CNet, in a story about the anniversary of the ENIAC, asks the question, “What was your first computer?” Some famous names weigh in with some arcane references.
I can’t recall which came first. I think it was the Texas Instruments TI-99 4a (which was a computer in about the same way a Segway is a motorcycle).
The other machine I had, at close to the same time, was an IBM PC XT with a 5 1/4 floppy drive and a 10 MB harddrive and 640k of RAM. It was a screaming machine back then. The hard drive alone separated the men from the boys – most IBM PC XTs were sold with the floopy alone.
