Something I Needed Last Week

The down side to the Internet is the fact that you generally find what you need about a week or two after you need it. Such is the case with Hitachi’s audio gallery of failing drives.

The hard drive in my wife’s laptop imploded last week. It was working fine one moment and dead the next – the blue screen of death stared us down. In hindsight, I do recall saying to my wife, “Wow, your computer’s making a funny noise.”

Had I had Hitachi’s library of broken drives audio files, I could have diagnosed it, and maybe saved all of her data. Instead, I have it bookmarked for the next time.
